reeeeeeeview and it's good!

Melbourne Jeweller has reviewed our show - Work Hardened

All praise and goodness. Enough to make a lady blush.

I do have to agree that i felt the stand out piece was Danica Moorcrofts to her vessel - 'Fritzel Baby Bowl'
Also Elise Sheehan 'Little White Lies' and Chris Massey's 'A Giving Ring' round out the top 3. So without further ado I call it. Year over and Holidays are HERE!

it is irish season.

Caz Guiney has hit the jackpot again and is really in tune with getting the public involved in her projects this is no different. I recieved an email from her last week with details of the project and the blog site. I have put my hand up to get a charm-id kit.... Fingers crossed the mail man delivers. I am interested to see the momentum this project will create - as a collective it will be nice to see what may come...

stay tuned.

times are a changing...

So as you may have noticed this blog has been lacking a little activity of late. I have moved my thoughts, photos and general "personal" blogging to a tumblr account.

I am keeping this blog for my public persona and as my jewellery outlet.

Stay tuned for exhibition you must see, jewellery ups and downs and my life through my craft.

Thank You.

Wondernamel is an invented word based on the idea of the curiosity cabinet originally called a wonder room or wunderkammer in German. Historically the wonder room was for the collection of objects including but not limited to scientific specimens, art and antiquities. Wondernamel illustrates the joy of colour and intensity of jewellery and object making that is united by the use of enamel.

garage sail infinity

Today was a great day. Sunshine to start, friends to compliment and some serious goodies from the Carlow House - Garage Sale and Open Studio. My apologies for not posting about this event earlier.
It was so great to see my old TAFE teacher Anna Davern. After the RMIT auction I was especially keen on seeing more of her new collection "Rocks." I had my heart set on getting a pair of earrings but when i got there and saw the prices i was so very lucky to be able to buy a few pieces. The best thing was peeling off the stickers and revealing the original price WOW! I ended up coming home with a bunch of items... here they are.

Stumbled on a box full of woven badges i can't go past anything with cards on it.

Automatic needle threader, not that i need one but i just really liked the form.

Nicky Hepburn silver ring

Great day.

from melbourne, with love...

Name the 5 things that you think of when i say Melbourne?

For me they are Trams (specifically the W-Class), Footy, St Kilda Beach, Water Wall (NGV) and Grey skies. I have memories and wonderful stories about each of them. I am getting off track so i will just mention this grey skies are synonymous with Melbourne. So synonymous in fact that Ironlak named their grey 'Melbourne'.

Now back to the topic of Melbourne i stumbled across blog called which is written by the likes of Tony Martin, Ed Kavalee and Richard Marsland.

It ended up being a fair bit of promo biz but a couple of pages in found this gem -

If it doesn't make much sense - watch this...

little pearls of wisdom... or something within that realm.

How often do you look at the grimy bathroom walls when you're out, heaps right. Tonight i had a moment before i had to meet a buddy and i popped into the Old Bar (great joint) on Johnston St, Fitzroy. There is was in all it's glory "heavy mystic shit' here started me thinking about the person who wrote it and what frame of mind they were in... Who knows 'heavy mystic shit' right?! From this is i will continue to chronical the best of best - or at least the most interesting (i find) stay tuned.

is it still graffiti if they're covering up graffiti?

Is one of the bylines for the new documentary "Vigilante Vigilante" that's coming out. I heard the buzz from Matt from 1UP Mircocinema Perth mecca for street fashion, drinks and flicks.

I haven't seen anything along these lines since RASH, cue eyebrow raise it's exciting.

This documentary looks at the rise of the anti-graffiti vigilante. These characters try to stamp out graffiti as quickly as it goes up. Hence the question is posed "is it still graffiti if they're covering up graffiti?" I can't wait to see the feature.

Trailer is here as well as other important info.

Keep an eye out.

vogue did it first.

Copy catting is the sincerest form of flattery right?  How far does this extend? In the media people copy things all the time. Television news take lead on articles from the newspaper and so on.

This evening my housemate and i were enjoying a couple of vinos and she had her new magazine purchases out. I was flicking through the new Madsion and came upon an article on Blake Lively current IT girl/muse (lucky girl) for Lagerfeld. Within seconds of seeing the images i realised i'd seen them before. I knew it was in another magazine about a year ago. I serached through all the magazines in the house finding nothing, i a little disappointed and confused (i have a brilliant memory for objects and images - people and names not so much) as to why i couldn't find the article. I looked to the internet and there it was.

Here are the original cover and article Vogue June 2010 -

Images grabbed from My Modern Met Article is here

Now here are the images i took from this months Madsion -

Is it just me or this is wrong? The covers are SO similar that even the colour choice for magazine brand is the same.
